My moms MacBook running El Capitan she is able to preview a movie in finder without opening it or hitting the space bar. Movie icons have a play button on them. How to enable this feature in my os?

icon view, column view and cover flow allow you to preview a movie with a single click. Other than that I don't see how it's possible, regardless of the OS version.

It did not work on my Mac like it does on my Moms. On my Mac I have to select the movie and hit space to preview it in icon view. On my Moms she can just click the play button on the movie icon on the desktop.

Add to this the file (movie formats that Mac OS reads) "preview" when you press the space bar with file selected; you can maximise from there to full-screen watching.
