I was just browsing through my time machine backups in finder and accidentally deleted one of the folders. At the moment its just sitting in the trash can. I would quite like to back on the HD but when I try I get the message The operation can’t be completed because backup items can’t be modified. I have tried changing perimissions, but it still doesn't work. Is there any way around this problem?

If you are running Snow Leopard, try right clicking on the folder and clicking on "Put Back".

I've already tried that too and it didn't work, the same message came up. The annoying thing is I can sort of remember reading a post with a solution to this a couple of weeks ago but i can't find it now...
