Hello guys,
I have lots of apple sport bands, Nike sport bands and sport loops and one thing that bothers me is the fact that the sport bands tend to wear fast. I love when they are new, the matte finish the smooth finish to the touch... but after 2-3 weeks the show signs of wear really fast, they become shiny and not so soft to the touch. I get that wear is something you cannot prevent but I feel like that they wear kind of fast for such a high priced item. What I do like is the fact that they don't get sticky like some non Apple silicon bands get after a short while.
The wear looks really bad on dark bands in my opinion.

Do you have a good recipe how to revive the matte new look on an old sport band?

In my experience, what you described only happens with my „fakes“. The Apple bands look quite well even after some time…

All my bands are genuine Apple... unless Amazon started to sell fake ones that look identical to genuine ones.
Not only that but even my black sport band that came with the watch showed the same signs of wear after a few weeks... I will take some pictures to show what I am talking about if my description was not enough.

I wasn’t suggesting you‘re referring to 3rd party straps, no offence!
Maybe my straps still look fine because I change them on a daily basis and also regularly clean them with soap and water. In fact I just bought a used Midnight Blue one from back in 2015 and to be honest, while it certainly doesn’t look new anymore, I’m quite impressed how well held up.

These bands were bought from different stores each is genuine unless the fake have become insanely good and even the stores can't tell the difference... I used each for no more then 12-18 days... I used an additional light to show the wear in the pictures because I found out it's hard to get that wear in the picture. The wear shows on the outside as well but it's really really mild (yet) compared to the wear in the pictures (that it's way way more pronounced )...

Phew that doesn’t look good…
I would compare that more to my 2015 Blue one, some pics attached:

My other straps have very light markings on the inside, where you‘d expect them from wearing them - but nowhere near as visible as those in your picture.

No matter if I swap the band or not I wash my watch and sport band with soap every day after I take my shower in the evening... so it's not that...

I have to admit that my bands look like new on the outside compared to yours but on the inside look like in the pictures... with too much wear for using them for 3 weeks tops (each)
Ah, well, I will have to get used to it I guess... I admit that I am very picky and I love the look and feel of the soft matte silicon finish on a brand new sport band.
I admit I was expecting a bit more resilience to wear given the price but it seems it's not the case.

Thank you very much for the pictures and feedback !
