How useful is a US iPhone 4 in Europe (Spain)?

    Specifically things like google maps and finding intersting things nearby.


    This will be for someone who is not overly tech savvy lol.


    and how could it be made useful?

    local SIM card?

    Wouldn't work anyway. It's locked to AT&T. :cool:

    Unless you want to pay international rates.......

    Depending on your current firmware and baseband you may be able to unlock the phone... if you are willing to jailbreak.

    Check out the iPhone Hacks forum and some of the stickies at the top of the posting list to get a better idea of what that entails...

    ah, yes the whole [BHCop]'banana-in-the-tailpipe'[/BHCop] lock.


    Would just wi-fi be of any utility in Spain?
