My wife and I really enjoy our 2017 MBP keyboards. We use them like normal. I eat near mine, I do everything I've normally done with laptops. That includes, for me personally, using a can of air on it every few days. My wife and I use a laptop sleeve when it is not in use.
We have lap desks usually for use while watching TV, etc...
I don't and wouldn't fret about the keyboard. My wife uses her laptop 6x more than I do and hasn't had a problem. She's never used a can of air on her keyboard either.
Relentless Power is right - I wouldn't recommend a skin. I've noticed internal temps noticeably higher when in clamshell mode. There is a bit of heat bleeding through the keyboard (helps diffuse heat).

Have to agree with Maflynn here. Definitely would NOT recommend a vac on this laptop. Buy a set of cans of air on Amazon and you're good for years - what I've done with my Macbook Air for 3+ years and will do for my 2017 MBP.

I don’t think that’s the point, even if somebody cared about the keyboard, you don’t necessarily ‘have’ to purchase a skin to protect it. They should just be able use it normally And not worry about issues that would lead or pose other problems in the future.
Its like a screen protector for phone, they’re optional, but not necessary, not everybody will share the same experience having issues with a product.

I wouldn't recommend doing that. I think the suction from standard vacuums will be too strong and you risk damaging the laptop
