The lesson here is simply never ever click on ANY link sent to you.

If you think an email is legit and it looks kosher and innocent and is offering you a link, simply open your browser and go directly to the main company page. Navigate to your account page from there and if there are legit messages for you, that's where you'll see it. Or simply call their customer service. It's a sad state of affairs, but you have to be suspicious of every single email that comes to you with any link. Go directly to the main website and go in through the front door so to speak.
 
Look at the FBI claiming they don't need the help of Apple to bypass the lock screen or another company claiming they can do it. Theses people don't need to be the FBI or a security software company it could be someone as young as 14 sitting there running the web on how to with time anything is possible it's not what you know it's who you know research is the key. It's the younger school geek we should fear and not the local thief.
