All iPads How well does Touch ID work?

One thing that I have found while using a different fingerprint scanner is that one didn't read my finger to good in the Winter when my skin was dry. I tried 5-10 times some days. Then I figured out with the problem was. Quick lick of the finger, dry it off and it worked fine.
