how were AT&T stores with the iphone 4 release?

how long did it take for them to get the phone in? thinking of buying the 4 just to trade in my HTC phone and then exchanging within the 30 day window

if you preorder you'll get the phone on launch day.. I preordered my iPhone 4 at 2pm at an AT&T store the day preorders went live and I got it on launch day... went there at 8 am to pick it up and i was the only customer in the store.
