if you pay for $999 iPhone 14 Pro using $750 in Apple acct balance(redeemed using Apple e-gift cards) and the remaining $250 charged on Apple Card, how will Apple credit your the $430 iPhone 12 Pro trade-in credit?

Which of the following will they do?

(1) credit entire $430 into Apple acct balance

(2) credit the Apple Card with $250 and the remaining $180 into Apple acct balance

(3) credit entire $430 to Apple Card

(4) something else

I asked 3 different Apple agents on the phone and none seemed sure about how this will go down... :(

Thanks!

the $430 would come off the price of the 14 Pro over the duration of the installment plan you agree to.

I didn't agree to any installment plan? :)

Order was fully paid with $750 in Apple account balance from the gift card redeemed. The remaining $250(plus sales tax) charged to my Apple Card.....

It will all go back to the gift card and you can call to get them to move the credit card amount back to your card. Remainder will remain on gift.

This is a correct answer.

well... somehow Apple ended up crediting the entire $430 trade-in credit to my AppleCard as a refund.

unfortunately, that resulted my account being debited for the 3%.(what AppleCard give for purchasing Apple products) That means my $430 was worth $12.90 less because the the 3% got clawed back. :( I'm planning to complain to somebody, but not sure who just yet. :)

^^This. Documented in the FAQ for Apple trade-in:

If I buy a new device online with a trade-in, what kind of credit will I get?

If you buy an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch and pay in full, we’ll apply a credit to your original payment method up to the total purchase price. For any remaining amount, you’ll receive an Apple Gift Card via email.
