Anyone tried these drivers for better performance?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce...03-driver.html

NVIDIA claims that they are for G285GTXs only, but apparently they work with any NVIDIA card on OS 10.6.4. I've not yet tested them myself as I'm currently at work. To be able to install them, you have to right click on the installation file and press "Show Package Contents", then extract the 3 separate sub-installers. Install all 3 of the installers and then reboot. Make sure to backup first to be on the safe side!

@mac, thanks man, that sounds great. im planning on gettin the base i5 (same GPU as u but slightly lower CPU). depending on what happens im trying to put 64bit Win7 on it, ill let yall know when i get some results

I'm going to be doing exactly the same as you, hoping for fluid gameplay on high settings (maybe even a few ultras with OCing?).

I don't think we'll miss the 0.13Ghz, I'm running it on a C2D MBP at the moment and it's definitely only the video card that is the limiting factor.

Currently getting about 30fps on 3/4 settings high 1/4 settings medium at 1280x with heavy overclocking, XP SP3. It looks pretty nice like this actually, but it would be nice to bump up the shaders and lights and maybe up the res, if the i5 330M can do this I'll be very very happy.

For the answer to your question, expect 30fps with the setting outlined from that forum:

2009 Unibody Macbook Pro with 256MB or 512MB nVidia 9600M GT Graphics Card

Textures:

Texture Quality: Medium

Graphics:

Graphics Quality: Custom

Shaders: Low
Lighting: Low
Shadows: Low
Terrain: Medium
Reflections: On
Effects: High
Post-Processing: Medium
Physics: High
Models: High
Unit Portraits: 3D
Movies: High Definition

Notes: Expect an average of 30fps.

I have everything on high with the 9600 GT 512MB in bootcamp and runs decently. Hasn't really had any lag problems.

The BETA ran perfectly fine on my 8600M so I assume that the 9600 would have an improved performance.

Everything? Damn man, what's your secret? Don't tell me you're at 1440x too..

Unless you consider 20fps decent!
