How will the 2022 MPB 16" ( so the winter 2022 macbook pros.) look like? I am highly flirting with the rumours regarding the winter 2021 mbp, but I am kind of afraid to buy it, since I always tend to stay away from Apples first "new" designs. Here the new design probably will be a 16" screen WITH an HDMI port. They did this similiar design constallation with the 15" mbp from 2015, neverthelesss this winter 2022 has different sizes and amterials, so I consider it "the first protoype". The 2022 mbp will probably be a an upgrade, which eliminates failurs of the first 16"-HDMI version (just like the iPhones – the "S" generations were always better.)

Any Ideas on about what could expect us in winter 2022? Thanks!

I think you've pretty much said it. I'd say that the Rev B of this new design of Apple Silicon 16" MacBook Pro will likely have a newer and faster iteration of the same class of Apple Silicon SoC that whatever this upcoming release will have. So, if that's an M2X, expect an M3X. If there's a whole 'nother letter, then expect that with a '2' next to it instead of a '1'. I'd guess that there won't be an increase in core count from this upcoming one to the next, but I really have no data or information to support that one way or the other. The cores, both CPU and GPU will certainly get faster between Revs. but that's usually the case when going from Mx (where x is a number) to Mx+1 or Ax to Ax+1. Incidentally, I don't know what that will mean for performance gains, but I'd imagine that Apple has a pretty strong roadmap and that we'll see impressive gains year-over-year (the likes of which we haven't had with Intel in at least a decade).

Interesting question that can never be answered by any one of us. We just don’t know and the rumors are just that, just rumors. Why don’t you wait until the 2021 MacBook Pro revision comes out.

It’ll be an upgrade over the 2021 version. And now you’re up to date rumor wise. Lol.

I would say the 2022 is the "revision". The 2021 is the new "version."

I would like to have the 2022 movel of mbp, as the second generation of 16' arm.
But I am not sure if my late '13 mbp will make it till 2022.

If I had magical wishes,
I would like to see a new 16 model on the market asap,
and even in January 2022 an updated 16' model, and instantly buy it.

I bought and still have the mid-2012 retina 16", which I passed onto my wife at some point. It was the first-generation with the retina display, but you couldn't call it a "first gen" device really when it came out. The form-factor was different, but if you remember it was a derivation from their earlier designs. Basically lighter and thinner by a good amount. The screen was the thing that was really brand-new. Now, no one knows if the new 16" will be completely new, but my money is on maybe it will be similar to how the mid-2012 was: an evolution of the design with a new screen, and so it may have fewer of the "first gen" problems that these devices tend to have.

Encouragingly, the only thing that was ever replaced on the mid-2012 mbp was the battery, so let's hope the new model will be just as reliable.
