My current desktop is a Dell E310 (Pentium 4 3.0Ghz w/ HT, 1GB ram, 160GB Hard drive). How will it compare to the baseline MacBook (upgrading to 2GB of ram)? I plan on running Windows on it. Should I expect a noticeable improvement/decrement, or something very minor?

How will it compare in terms of games? I play The Sims 2 on the Dell on low settings and it is pretty smooth, so can I expect similar or better with the MacBook?

dual-core makes the biggest difference. as far as I'm concerned, it's a necessity these days. in windoze it's great for times when some app freezes on one of the cores.

In terms of performance, you will definitely notice a large improvement on the MacBook. In terms of graphics performance, yes the MacBook is underpowered but you should be ok in the Sims, especially if you are used to low settings.
