I’m planning on upgrading this year and I can’t decide how I’m going to protect the phone. I won’t go naked. I use best skins ever back protection on my 7+ now and it works ok besides having to replace it every few months. I do have some screen scratches because the phone slips easily out of pockets.

I like the apple leather cases but I really enjoy the feel of the phone without a case. But this new phone will be a more expensive repair job unless I get apple care (which I may).

What do you plan on doing? Naked with apple care? Skin? Case?

I've been using the Incipio Dualpro with a glass screen protector on my last few phones, that's what I'd do.

Currently on an iPhone 7 plus upgrading to the iPhone Maximus and I have used the case / tempered glass combination, best combination in my opinion. My phone looks flawless from day one.

Otterbox I like the protection and the holster. I'm rough on my things and never had a problem with the otterbox. I was running up the staris to catch a flight and as I turned the corner it grabbed my phone. It went down an entire flight of stairs end over end. Not one problem.

This is a funny visual but I’m glad the phone was ok. I’d be freaking out watching it all play out in slow motion haha.

If I get a new phone I’ll probably put an Apple leather case on it. I’d love to go caseless but too scared of drops with the glass back and cost of replacement.

I had a sattle brown apple case for my iphone 8 plus. But i wanna get the Xs Max/Plus in the new Gold, so in order to get as close to the "naked" look, I ordered myself already a white frosted case from totallee + screen protector. Obviously thats not the best protection for proper falls, but it well hopefully keep away the scratches. I am quite carefully with my phones, so fingers crossed it will be sufficient.

Probably a case from Speck. I find their iPhone cases to provide a good amount of protection without too much bulk. No screen protector. I had always used a screen protector on my iPhones (first, the plastic film and, later, the tempered glass). I never really loved them - hard to get on, bubbles, not covering the full screeen, tempered glass eventually cracking, etc. Then, at some point last year with my iPhone 7, I just said, the hell with it, I’m taking the screen protector off. A year later, I know I’ve dropped the phone a number of times, but no scratches or cracks. As long as you have a case that rise above the edge of the glass, the case is far more likely to make contact than the glass screen.

What about the case coming above the edges? Does that drive you crazy with gestures?

Usually I am very careful with my idevices and I dont care when they getting little scratches over the time. So I dont see the need for a case.

I’ll most likely be getting the XS but, I’ll put a case on it no screen protection. My X is the first iPhone that didn’t use a screen protector and it has fared very well.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only ONE way to use a big phone

Loopy Case

I carry my X naked most of the time, but I use a TORRAS Slimfit case (similar to the Apple silicone case) when I'm at the gym or out for a run or cycling. I'll carry on the practice with the Xs Plus.

I’ve been using my X naked for the last couple of months. However, in the first couple of months , I always have it in a apple leather case and glass screen protector from Spigen. Once that “honeymoon” stage is over I don’t care lol.

I’ll be doing the same with the iPhone Xs extremely plus super oled, whatever Apple wants to call it.

The same way I would recommend protecting most other phones: tempered glass screen protector and a durable/lightweight case. I like Spigen for cases. Caseology's Paralax series isn't bad either. That's if they can make it to your doorstep. I have had their packages go missing and they don't want to reissue new case shipments.

I've had the dual pro for the last 4 years, on my 6, my 7+ and my 8+. I just ordered an X style one from amazon in the hopes that the body will remain unchanged on the 5.8 XS. I've looked at tons of other cases over the years, and none come close for me.

I agree with you 100%, I love those cases and I think based on all the rumors you should be fine with the XS fitting your new case.
