Hello. I work at a tech dept. at my uni. We have a lot of old machines that we wipe before sending them off. Including some Macs.

One problem is that we need a solution for wiping the HDs of the Macs without popping the iMacs open. Does anyone know of a way to make a kill disk?

boot from the restore disc if it's intel or any X disc is it's PPC, disk utility, erase, security options button, zero out data or higher if you are required/paranoid...

another option would be a liveCD linux approach. would be slower, but you could automate the kill i guess. the apple disc provides some good job security as someone needs to click all those buttons... ;)
