you obviously dont know quicksilver, you can make quicksilver do anything with a group of files that are composed of either the current selection or even multiple selections from multiple locations

If you want do this

PDF:
open in preview
open in Acrobat Pro
open in Photoshop
open in web browser

How long would it take in quicksilver? How long would it take to drag and drop?

BTW, I mostly launch apps using spotlight, been doing that for 3 years. Before spotlight I use Command A and type the app name.

I keep often used apps in the dock.

It's a Mac. You can customize your experience, easily. Just because you do things one way doesn't mean it's useless to do it another way that works better for other people.

That feature's already there, under Accounts in System Preferences.

Could you be so kind as to show me where in Accounts does it allow you to lock the dock items from being dragged off the dock? I would expect that to be dock preferences.

haha, you just gave a great example of where quicksilver shines over drag and drop. Just navigate to the PDF>>tab>>w(open with)>> pr[eview] {then type a comma} Ac[robat Pro] comma pho[toshop] comma s[afari] >>enter

Now that file opens in all of those applications, much much faster than repeatedly dragging it to each icon.

That's cool. I didn't know that function before. To me, at the moment, Quicksilver is like a F1 racer, but I'm in a parking lot... I guess I need to test it out again.
