I noticed seen like there is a " friction " come using thumb to swipe on my iPad Air as usually come iPhone I using thumb to swipe. I noticed come iPad using finger to swipe seem feel " smooth " than using thumb which I tend to feel like got " friction ".

Do note the iPad Air I using the screen already wipe.

I don’t swipe at all. I tap with my finger.
I feel partly iPad Air screen is Larger than iPhone thus using thumb to swipe on iPad seem " a friction " on it whereas on iPhone is smooth due to the screen size. Yes come iPad , I noticed use finger to swipe that " feel " just like i used Thumb to swipe on the iPhone.

I used to find iPad mini , i remember using thumb to swipe just like my iPhone seem smooth. Later I get iPad Air the screen bigger. This is what I noticed come using thumb and fingers swipe on iPad the " difference " .

I frequently swipe with my thumb. I don't notice any different feel than when using a finger.

I notice there is difference on swipe on iPhone vs iPhone Air. Partly perhaps due to the screen been used differently? If I not mistaken iPhone is Glass type of screen whereas iPad Air is not just plastic screen?

I've noticed the anti-reflective coating on higher end iPads makes the glass less smooth and way more susceptible to finger grease. The basic iPads don't have the coating and they feel smoother to swipe and don't get as dirty so quickly either.

Adding a screen protector helps.

i just go search , No wonder.

" Yes, the screen surfaces physically feel different. While both the iPad Air and iPhone 15 use glass covered with a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, the larger surface area of the iPad Air leads to more friction. Additionally, the iPad Air has a laminated anti-reflective coating that can make swipes feel slightly "draggy" or sticky compared to the slicker, smaller glass on your iPhone. "
