Since I use most of the time my iPad pro 12 M2 on battery, I was thinking to give it a shot once beta 4 gets released.
I have seen many comments on iOS regarding heat and battery life, but nobody posts anything about iPad.

Kindly asking for some heads-up.

I haven’t had any issues. I‘ve been using the beta’s since launch and for the most part it’s been fine. I’m on 4 now and I‘m hoping it got rid of some of the little bugs in messaging that were around. Overall it’s been very stable for me.

It has not been stable for me. My iPad 12.9 Pro has been crashing quite a bit with Safari, Messages and other apps. iPhone is also on the beta and doing the same thing, although not as often.

I can concur. The latest beta release has been a crash fest.

Thanks for concurring. I could not find much on the crashing and though maybe it was just my devices. But to have both iPhone and iPad crashing seemed odd and too coincidental.

No crashes so far on my brother's M1 iPad Pro 11. Then again, it's pretty much just been used for Twitch and YouTube.

He got it from Swappa and it shipped pre-installed with iPadOS 17 Beta. Totally overkill for his usage but he wanted FaceID+cellular and he got it for a really good deal.

Sometimes you can face no charging via usb-c usb-c cables or as it’s currently critical bug I found and reported - no charging at all using any USB-A - USB-C cable (as on iPad Pro 2018 11” I had already usb-c).

Overall it’s stable but still beta. Naturally it takes more juice as it’s logging more data. Not faced any app crash or Respring yet (device restart due to crash).

Edit: I forgot you asked about M1 - Keep in mind my iPad is not M series CPU so it might behave different in my case.
