How's the new native Youtube app?

It works well, but there are two things I’m disappointed in.

You can’t download videos and as far as I can see, you can’t play a video on a massive screen. It seems to match the size of an iPad compatible app’s maximum screen size.

Once those two things are resolved, I’ll be very happy.

I didn't even know one can download YouTube videos (without some special desktop software) haha.

How big is the max screen size? That is kind of disappointing if you can't watch standard video on a huge virtual movie theater screen, albeit I wouldn't care for most of the type of content I watch on YouTube.
 
I like it overall. The little content that does show 4320p as advertised truly is a wonderful to watch on the screen size of your choice. There is a particular nature video that is around 120 minutes that truly captivates when watching. There is a spatial section/icon which is nice for vision pro and other platform specific content. However once looking through the offerings, you quickly see how limited the space currently is. I understand why as it is a limited viewing audience, but it really makes me wish there was more motivation given to content creators outside of engagement. Im not sure if others notice, but the first few spatial videos are these awful thumbnails about the dangers of vaping. While an important topic, even if it was relatable, I wouldnt think to click on it for a spatial experience.

I think my only wish list is to have environments available to choose while watching whatever looks interesting.
 
Every non-AVP YouTube app plus the website gives me a certain list of videos and accounts I’m subscribed to, etc.

The AVP app only has recommendations under the subscription tab, and I do not see curated videos. So far I’ve only used the AVP app for VR video. Still use the webpage for the videos curated for my user account.

Just don’t understand why the app doesn’t include the curations. Maybe I’m missing a setting somewhere?

I’m glad that a native app came out. I hope that they keep working on it to make it better pros it exist but the cons you can’t go fully immersive in any environment. You can’t go full screen you can’t comment on videos and you can’t download videos for off-line viewing later these are things I would like Google to add to the YouTube native app
