Can't really enjoy it? I always use a case and a screen protector, and I enjoy the hell out of it.

I'll tell you what I don't enjoy - a scratched screen/phone. But I'm very OCD and even the faintest micro scratches bother me. I also (because of the OCD) constantly clean the screen. If I didn't have a screen protector on it, the lens wipes I use would probably completely remove the oleophobic coating in no time. And once that's gone it's a miserable experience trying to keep the screen clean. And it doesn't have that nice feel to it anymore. To each his own. I totally understand either perspective. No right or wrong. I'll keep using one (Best Skins Ever, though I may give a glass protector a shot soon) because the day I decide to stop using one I'll probably drop it in my driveway and put a ton of deep scratches in it. My wife did that with her 5.

I am in charge of 8 phones on my plan and we upgrade yearly. My boss refuses a case while everyone else has a case and screen protectors. His phone is covered in scratches and the screen has some massive ones as well.

Always use protection.....unless you are rich.

For the first time ever I've decided that when I get my 6s I am going screen protectorless. I've always had one to keep my device pristine and for what? So the guy I sell it to can have a new looking phone?

We'll I've finally decided to say screw that guy and go without. Especially as my past 2 iPhones have gone to the recyclers who care less about microscratches than a private buyer and I really dont want to be the person anymore with plastic seat covers.

So out of curiosity. You folks who always roll naked, how has your 6 screen held up these past 12 months?

No cases, no screen protector. Pretty good, no scratches. Then again, I take care of my stuff.
It depends on the person. Some people will need pelican cases bomb proof cases, others like me, not so much.

9 months of using my iPhone 6 Plus, I could see multiple scratches on the class at certain angles. Nothing major, ranged from micro scratches to deeper ones caused by objects. If you go naked , scratches will appear on the screen.

Note: some baby their phones so even naked they will avoid any scratches .

These days I get AppleCare + and go naked. A screen protector and apple genuine case will is over 1/2 way to apple care +

The thing that I am most afraid about not having a screen protector is that over time, the oleophobic coating on the screen will wear off, and that would result in the screen becoming a massive fingerprint magnet. With a glass screen protector, the coating would also wear off (more quickly I assume) but you can always replace it with another one.
Those without screen protectors, do you catch a lot of fingerprints on your devices?

I've owned every iPhone model and have never used a screen protector. I don't remember ever scratching any of the screens either. I'm careful with my phone and keep it in a pocket by itself.

Yeah, I've only noticed recently a lot more than before though. I prefer my phone without a screen protector or case so the minor blemishes over time just come with age and I accept it. No one will ever look at my phone as closely as I do so they'll never notice the small scratches and dents I've collected unless I point it out to them.

I personally don't like screen protectors. I am glad I put one on my wife's 5s. Her phone slid off the counter and landed face down on our tile floor. The screen was spider-webbed. She called to tell me she shattered her screen. I told her to peel the screen protector off (she didn't even realize there was one on), and her actual screen was perfect. Needless to say, I got her another glass screen protector! The coverage is so much better on the 5s than on the 6 with the curved screen.

working outside I got a bit of sand in my pocket, not even really even to know. It damaged my screen scratching off some of the coating and leaving some areas looking like brighter pixels. Definitely notice it when using it for a while. That said, I still won't use a screen protector I will just be more careful when working outside as it isn't often I am around sand and gravel and such.

I am taking the plunge this year and vowing to go naked. I LOVE the feeling of that smooth apple curved glass as you swipe and press and with the 3d touch this year its as good as ever to go naked.

I will be buying apple care + though for the first time and returning my saddle brown case to put towards it.

NAKED4LYF!!

never a case, always a plastic screen protector. People say it distorts the screen, etc. but I don't see it/don't care. I get them all scratched up and stuff but then I just replace them regularly. They're VERY inexpensive so I don't care.

No case since launch. Dropped 3-4 times because of how slippery it was. Phone faced down when I'm with anyone. Lots of scratches on the screen I'm surprised compared to the 5 that I had previously.

I've never used a screen protector on mine, and I got my iPhone 6 around Sept. 20 (so almost day one). Not one scratch! I do make an effort to never put my phone face down unless it is on a soft surface. I also have a couple minor chips in the aluminum but nothing major. I used the Apple silicone case for about 3 months before switching to the Caudabe Veil for about 8 months. Caseless every now and then.

I've got a lot of micro scratches on the 6 Plus that you can only see in fairly bright conditions at a certain angle near the top left edge and along the bottom where there isn't as much protection on my Apple leather case. My theory for the top part is that the Plus couldn't go into my pocket as smoothly since it was a lot taller, so that corner would rub against the rivet in my jeans when I would put it in and take it out. It's not enough to bother me, and I'm fairly picky, but I'm sure it's enough that it dings me on trade-in value. To me scratches aren't that bad if they aren't over the display itself—unless they're really deep.

I have a 6+ , no scratches on the screen at all, never had a screen protector, after a year

I took my case off on the weekends sometimes when I wasn't at work, and I only have one tiny mark on the top on the metal. that's it

:)

I stopped using screen protectors ever since the retina iPhone 4S. I couldn't stand how it diminished the quality of the screen.

Also I don't see the purpose for one. I'm not sliding it up and down surfaces or anything like that.

I've had an iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone5, and now getting an iPhone 6s+, and I've never used a screen protector. A case? Yeah, that makes sense for grip and general breakage; but a screen protector, to me, is like putting plastic covering on your leather couch - you lose out on fully enjoying your purchase in day-to-day life.

Have my old phones' screens gotten minor, only-visible-when-looking-extremely-close-and-actively-searching scratches over 2+ years of regular, carefree use? Sure, maybe one or two small scratches show up when the screen is off and I shine a light on it. Does that justify experiencing years of diminished display and tactile quality in daily use just so I can get a couple extra bucks in resale value? No.

The real danger is cracking a screen, and a screen protector won't defend against that. I'll continue to not use a screen protector, and fully enjoy my phone's screen, with maximum visual quality, worry-free.

Plus, the iPhone 6s is supposed to have an even stronger screen than the prior models (although it is ambiguous whether or not it is more resistant to scratches or cracks, or both) - why use a condom when your wife is already on birth control?

I'm upgrading from a 5s to a 6s and have never used a screen protector. I like to enjoy my phones. The screen on it is immaculate. Not one scratch. It's quite easy, you just need to keep it in your pocket when you're not using it and make sure nothing else is in your pocket.
