My bad. I guess I did a poor job of explaining it. I was trying to describe the top and bottom of the stainless steel band. For example, if you're using the Apple leather case or the silicone case, it's the band next to the screen that's exposed.
Or you could call it the "Rim"

Unfortunately not since Graphite and Pacific Blue has the PVD coating. Gold has a coating but something different. Silver is the only model that doesn't have any coating, so it can be done only on silver.
That’s a bummer. In general I try to baby my devices just because I like the look of a clean device. However, with my 12 Pro in graphite, it sure does seem like a big challenge is in store for me.

I usually keep my devices for a few years before upgrading, but this time around, I want to sell to get the 13 when it releases this year.

Being that so much as a sneeze seems to damage my 12 Pro, selling it in “mint” condition, which commands a nice resale value, will be next to impossible.

My 7 Plus that I upgraded from (aside from the screen), is literally in better shape than my ~2 month old 12 Pro.

Perhaps time to apply some 3M door edge guard film . I think the width of that film is same as the band ?
Most of the time none. And when it was a just 3rd party back glass protector.
and this one

the phone width is already on the limit of usability for me. Thats why i don’t like apples cases.

as the backglas has also some small crack, i was thinking of replacing the body with a kit from ebay for 70€ before i give it away.
has anyone experience with the quality ?
