Hi - I was shocked to see that my newly sync'ed iphone doesn't have the Notes and Tasks from Outlook. Surely I can get my iphone to have those apps, sync'ed with Outlook, too?! thanks

As far as i know, you cannot sync notes and tasks from outlook to iphone. I was shocked when i learned that. But now i am using 2 application to manage my notes and tasks.

1. Younote - a free notes apps, really good one but you wont be able to sync it with outlook it is a standalone app.
2. Toodledo - for managing task. Free access from website but you have to pay 2.99 for the iphone app.

For more information go to this link and see under PDA lounge for more information.

If you're Outlook is connected to an Exchange Server or you use an Exchange Server service for Push Email on the iPhone, check out this program. It gives you push like email fashion access to create/read notes from your Outlook(exchange server) Notes folder. Works pretty good too, create a note in Outlook and it can be read on your phone. Create it on the iPhone and it just pops up in the Notes folder accessible from Outlook. Works over Data connection on top of WiFi to boot :)

Work Around to sync notes on Iphone

I figured out a pretty good workaround that will allow you to sync outlook notes to your iphone(sorta). Create a new contacts folder and call it OL-Notes or something similar. Create a new form in the outlook form designer that has FileAs Name and Notes in it. You can then put the note title in the FileAs and the note in the notes section. And then sync the New Contacts folder to your phone, It will even appear as its own group. If you need a copy of the outlook form, just send me an email jmccullen@yahoo.com

use Exchange server and sync over the air

You can sync your notes with iPhone... if your Outlook uses an MS-Exchange server, you can set up your iPhone's email client to sync with the Exchange server...

And then in the setup for that, you can tell it to sync your Notes as well.

This will mean sync'ing over the air, and not via iTunes, but who cares, as long as the sync works.

I just tried this, there is no Notes/Tasks option in the iPhone outlook integration settings page.. :(
