HP Envy 27 USB-C monitor issues

anyone have issues trying to use the USB-C interface with this monitor from the new MacBook pros?

it worked initially but now I cannot get a video signal from any usb c port.
 
Sounds like a faulty monitor if it worked and now it doesn't?
Would call the support or make use of the warranty.
