HP mediasmart server

anyone using an HP mediasmart Server? (see one here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...e=HP_MediaSmart_Server-_-59-105-562-_-Product)

Ive thought about buying one of these to act as my data hub for accessing stuff remotely from my macbook pro and ipad...what do you all think?

Build a PC yourself. For same price you can get a lot more powerful or more storage. Use e.g. Fractal Design Define R2 case, it has 8 HD bays, brilliant case! Then stick in some cheapish components and invest on HDs

im with hell on this - i am going to use the Fractal case. i spec'd a PC 2x that fast for roughly the same price, and it has 8 HDDs bays! probably uses less power too (ive calculated roughly 70W at idle including everything).

when you say remotely, do you mean from your intranet, or internet>?
