I have read the posts with the people who had printer problems with the samsung but I have a HP deskjet 4200 and I did the right click and removed all the printers, re installed my print driver (a CD that came with my printer) and it won't let me ADD it...the ADD button is not highlighted. Please help I have to print something off for classes tomorrow!!!

Thank you.

Ah that really sucks. my deskjet 5150 isn't working very well either. The factory software doesn't work in snow leopard I guess, so I choose like a 5700 deskjet instead, but it doesn't always print right.

You might try deleting it, clicking add, and then choose the printer software from the list yourself and choose a number close to it like one in the 5000 range or something.

I don't know otherwise, hopefully someone else can help you better.

Tried that it doesn't work. It sees the 4200 printer in the menu but when I select it and it shows the location and name and print using but the add button is still ghost out and wont let me add it.

If HP decides to orphan the printer instead of upgrading it like they did to a bunch of scanners and printers when Leopard showed ...

Looks like you might be waiting for Gimp/Gutenprint to be upgraded.

http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php

Don't know where they are with snow leopard though.

Edit:

Second thought looks like they are way behind on the deskjets anyhow. so not too likely for them.
