Anyone had any issues connecting HP printers to BigSur? Mine just sits on setting up device through the system settings printer manager and refuses to actually finish setting up the device end up having to cancel it.

any similar issues or suggestions?

Be interested in any replies also. I have an HP PhotoSmart 7520 and would hate to lose it.

I read in the working App thread the HP Driver 5.1 app may not work. I assume after updating BigSur you would have to install updated drivers. But, I am not a techy. So not really sure on that.

My printer is a DeskJet 2620 so it should just work through AirPrint but doesn't - it literally just sits there saying set up device.

The thread linked, I tried installing the drivers mentioned still hasn't fixed it. The AirPrint "it just works" really should just work but isn't - any more ideas anyone?

Have you tried the below ?

When adding a printer, you may need to select USE : AirPrint and NOT as Secure AirPrint.

That's how I was able to add the printer on Big Sur.

Turns out it was a firmware issue on the printer - reset that and all now seems to be working!

Thanks for the suggestions all :)

I installed BS 11.0.1 on a different Volume, I created, on my MB Pro 2015 for testing. The printer worked with no issues from the start. Also. no BS issues at all AFAIK, so far.
