    Dear all

Am new here. Not new to Macs, but just bought a new iMac, 20-inch, 2GHz. With it, got a free F4180 deskjet all-in-one; adding to that my (older) laserjet 1022.

They are not operating smoothly when both installed! I have used the software provided, updated it at HP.com.

Part of the problem is that they only seem able to handle one job at a time. When I push 2 jobs through either printer stalls. In the queue it says "Inactive".

Also, sometimes the scanner says it can't be found, even though previously the printer might have been working fine.

    Aaagh! Any ideas?

Have you tried deleting the printers and going through the "Add printer" module again? Install one at a time. I've found this to cure most issues, especially with HP printers/scanners.

I have 6 printers listed on my MBP, and I can send multiple jobs at the same time - so it is possible.
