The topic doesnt state "released" though, it states "releases" and only in creators link does it state that April seems to be the releasetime. :) (sorry for being a smartass)

Good to know that the Ivys are not seriously delayed after all. Also interesting to see Nvidia GPUs exclusively. The previous models were available with both Intel/AMD CPUs and Nvidia/AMD GPUs.

Does anyone think that Apple will provide a free ML upgrade with the next generation MBPs, provided they are released before ML is ready?

Its a preview of what's coming. I just hope that apple embraces Ivy Bridge in their next release and not just slimming it down. I have the cash sitting in the bank waiting for the next MBP, provided its based on Ivy Bridge.

Same here, I think, Im not sure I can survive (exaggeration) waiting for one more release, hehe. I really think Apple wouldnt skip out on Ivy in next release, that could make people look elsewhere for top notch laptops, I mean, some people, me included will only go for apple, but others can swing both ways, and falling in line with the other manufacturers so make them swing Apples way should be in their interest, no? :)

Conclusion: Dont scare me with sillyness like incoming release not being Ivy bridge, haha. ;)

Edit: Topic is misleading. I knew even before I clicked on it that it would be an announcement rather than a shipping product. Announcement on x date, then shipping later possibly with an extended shipping time early on. They just wanted to announce before the other oems. There are several potential reasons. I'm not going to speculate on them.

A bit disappointed to see no CPU clock jump.
Same old 2.3GHz on the Envy.
I'd like to see a higher clock speed on the 2012 MBP atleast.

And cant wait to see Thunderbolt peripherals against the USB 3.0.

I didn't see any mention of thunderbolt on the HP. I'd hope to see it shipping on some computers Windows side this year to increase adoption rates.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't use IB. Aside from the mini they've always gone with the latest available unless it was missing some feature. As I recall the Core2duo held on longer due to Intel's lawsuit against NVidia.

The buyers guide isn't expecting a MBP update, the MBP on the buyers guide is still on "Buy only if you need it - Approaching the end of a cycle" and not "Don't Buy - Updates soon"

The only truly useful aspect to the buyer's guide is the cited information below the recommendation. What is available makes a much greater difference than when we last saw an update. The one from the fall was just a very basic drop in type update. Intel released cpus that were clocked a little higher. It's unlikely that it required much testing or retooling of the line. If Ivy Bridge was expected in the first quarter, they may not have bothered.
