I've got an issue with some HP Z27 displays. The monitors have flickering, and occasionally go to sleep for a moment before coming back. Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm a bit concerned because I've order over a dozen as replacements for Apple Thunderbolt displays that were lost this winter after a burst pipe took out everything electric in my building.

Actual nonstop flickering has been occurring on a 13" MacBookPro13,2 connected via the USB-C cable.

The issue with going to sleep happens on that machine as well as a 15" MacBookPro14,3 when it is connected via the USB-C connector or through a CalDigit TS3 Plus dock and Displayport.

Any ideas on this? Could there be a firmware update for the monitor, or is this a known issue?

I'd cancel that order until you get things worked out.

What INPUT are you using on the display?

When connected via USB-C devices connect to the USB-C input, when through the CalDigit dock they go through DisplayPort.

Switching the 13" MacBook Pro to a monitor with dock solved the extreme flickering. Keeping an eye on it for the sleep issue.
