does this board support href tags?? If not, why not?

TEST:

<a href="http://weblog.adviceuniverse.com/eric">Eric's Weblog</a>

You can also type a URL directory, e.g., www.google.com, and the forum software will automatically put the URL tags around it for you. I didn't type any tags here and you can see that my link came out "live".

HTML is usually not a good thing to allow in forum posts because you can do way to much with it (read: bad things)

So they created their own style of code to basically substitute as the HTML called BBcode (BB for bulletin board)

You can find out how they are coded by clicking on one of the icons in the editor template.

The most comonly used ones are [ url ] bleh.com [/ url ] that will make a link clickable and [ url= bleh.com ] yay [/ url ] will make the word "yay" clickable.

Others are [ b ] yay [/ b ] for bold, I for italic, U for underline, and there are also many others.

Of course always remove the spaces.

thank-you

EDIT: I think its about time to let Arn know i would have no problem with helping out the forum with any forum specific needs. :p

And it is quite easy if you find one you would like to be a BBcode you can ask for it to be created for the site. Quite easy for it to be ratified if actually a worthwhile adventure to create it.

Just remember that some sites may have certain BBcodes turned off.

Ex. I know a site that HATES having multiple colors in posts so they made every color be a green color. Some sites have no colors possible.

So it varies from site to site.
