The problem AT&T had been having with Alcatel/Lucent equipment seems to have been fixed, at least here in St. Louis.

Further, it's ALMOST as good as Sprint's 4G for me. Without HSUPA/HSDPA I got 1.7 down, .1-.25 up. Now I'm getting 3+M down, 1.6M up. With 4G on the Evo, I got 5-6M down, 2M up. AT&T's 3G is close enough to 4G speed for me, at least for now.

Anyone else?

Not for me. I live outside of Portland, Oregon, and I am lucky if I can get to 1.5MB DOWNLOAD and past 60K upload. Allegedly, AT&T is checking things out. I am not optimistic that they will "find" anything wrong. I completely expect them to say it is a hardware issue, which I know it's not. I've lost all respect for AT&T. I'll definitely be raising a big stink to get a partial credit each month until things are working as they are supposed to be in my area.

When is AT&T supposed to deploy 4G anyway, I know Sprint is doing it now, and Verizon is supposed to have LTE starting next year, but I do not remember the dates AT&T said they will start?

Fixed in Colorado Springs (my tower was updated Friday night based on daily speed test results).

Its actually a software issue with the routers they use, or the networking equipment. Which is affecting the hardware. By hardware Im guessing u mean iphone.

Living in baltimore, I got to test a evo with 4g, and Im telling you all, forget it. 4g is terrible inside any building, and very similar speed to what the iphone 4 can do.

Ill wait happily knowing that hopefully that issue can be resolved with buildings.

Ouch, I'm in Salem, Oregon and just got: 2.44 Mb down and 1.59 Mb up

I'm in Portland too. Same results here.

Similar results near Seattle--downloads are actually about the same as they used to be, but uploads have jumped dramatically from around 100 kbps to the 1400-1600 kpbs range.

Much better here in Kansas City. When the I4 came out i could get uploads of 1600 kbps and better. Since about a week after its release I have not been able to get over 100kbps.

Here in KC it seems some areas are fixed and some are not. Best sped test I ran this weekend was 4500Kb down, 1800Kb up. Very impressive when it gets back up. I had the Evo 4G here for 30 days and never had it break thru 4000Kb down, not to mention the Upload was capped at 1000Kb as well.

Same here (Beaverton area). I just checked and the speeds still suck.
