Opening apps side by side with my S7e, it opens them a little faster on the S7e than the HTC 10, but switching between apps via recent/multitasking seems a little faster on the HTC 10. But the difference is really quite marginal with the odd app switching behaviour.Compared it yesterday for kicks against a S6 for speed. The 10 was in demo mode, I opened apps on both simultaneously and then cycled through them. The S6 won especially opening apps, not by a wide margin but considering the processor and RAM I was surprised.

In isolation i doubt folks would be able to tell any difference apart speedwise.
I also must stress, just as smooth as the S7e has been in its UI (outside of briefing/upday) the HTC has been just as smooth. They are both incredibly smooth, even scrolling in apps is also very smooth with both. So if anyone is worried about lag, well I am happy to report in my case there is no issue there anyway.
It is way too soon to tell about battery, i have to give it a few days to level out like all androids, but it's clear it's not going to last as long on charge as the S7e or 6S+ do.
How's the audio and do you like the display, do you have the latter adjusted for vivid mode?

If they're more or less equal in terms of performance, how is Sense better than TW? Genuine question.
The one major thing I can see already is that Sense does away with duplicate apps. There are solutions to match that for TouchWiz, of course, but still, kudos to HTC for doing that out of the box. And I guess the lighter Sense helps with future updates?
Is there any day-to-day software features though that Sense brings to the table that TW or no one else does?
Sense is more akin to stock android that's been jazzed up a little. Like stock android on steroids.
It does away with much of the bloat under the hood (not just duplicate apps) - for example just it's memory utilisation standing still is around 1gb less than the S7e.
It's not necessarily about extra features as fundamentally you do pretty much the same thing with both, but if like me you spent time making Touchwiz look more material both icon wise and colour wise, then sense offers that out of the box without messing with theme.
When it comes to themes not only can you create your own on the fly, but you can choose which element you want or don't want. You are not restricted to applying everything if you just want custom icons or such.
If you prefer stock android aesthetically like I do, but want the customisation that Samsung TW at least offers, then Sense offers a great combination.
Simple things like being able to swipe between dialler / contacts / favourites in dialer are small changes that do offer a nice refined experience.
Most of what makes Sense better than TW will come down to subjective preference.
I might do the same....if T-Mobile ever announces it.I have an S7 Edge, and last night bit the bullet and will be switching to the HTC 10 🙂
I went to a TMO corp store and asked them when they would have the HTC 10...final answer......they have no clue.I might do the same....if T-Mobile ever announces it.
Yeah...it's frustrating. A T-Mobile employee on Reddit said they are starting training this week, assuming he is correct, it should see release soon. Also, Dex (the unboxing dude we always see from T-Mobile) confirmed early this month. I have heard a rumor of may 12 (my bday, ironically). So hopefully, it should be soon.I went to a TMO corp store and asked them when they would have the HTC 10...final answer......they have no clue.
Europe has the right idea.......buy the phone....then decide who to have as your carrier.Yeah...it's frustrating. T-Mobile, for all its trail blazing, has really dropped the ball lately.
-slower than other carrier updates, particularly in samsung phones.
- continuining JOD but making it harder to use.
-the while HTC situation.
If the next Nexus blows me away, I might sale my phone, and buy directly from Google. Get rid of all this carrier related nonsense.
This is all from Reddit:Europe has the right idea.......buy the phone....then decide who to have as your carrier.
What news did you see about JoD?
Hmmm....the only reason I stay with TMO is for JoD. VZW has better coverage where we go hiking and off-roading.This is all from Reddit:
Essentially eip is more profitable and being pushed. Sales agents are not getting commission from JOD. Essentially your best bet is to call via the phone to do a jump. There doesn't seem to be any problem there, it's just some sales people in the stores have motivation to push eip now.
From what I have read, and from contacting support, JOD is here to stay, but isn't at the forefront of T-Mobile advertising.
Honestly, I have considered jumping to thr cheapest phone they will do JOD with, and selling it; or just selling my s7 edge. T-Mobile swears it's here to stay, but I am weary.
The note 6 is the only thing that gives me pause, since an unlocked route isnt really accessible in the US yet. But the HTC and future Nexus devices are.
Just my thoughts.
That's not the norm for Europe. Most folks still buy phones here on contract, heavily subsidised. (On 24 month contracts).Europe has the right idea.......buy the phone....then decide who to have as your carrier.

Finger print reader on the 10 has been amazing. I haven't had a single fail read as yet. Very surprised.
The audio (been listening to a lot of music today) is amazing on the hi-res earphones. It also can get VERY loud, at about 50% it's equivalent to the S7e headphones at 100%. They really amp it up.
