.html after domain name url with iWeb?

why is there an .html after my domain name url? like Apple.com/.html
How can i make it so its just like apple.com in the web browser

The file name has to be index.html in order for it to only show the name. iWeb creates a index.html file automatically and that file redirects to your actual home page. It's simply how iWeb was designed. It can be a pain to get around this nuance.
