httpmail no longer working with 10.5.3

Hi,

The latest update seems to have broken mail for me. I only have 2 hotmail accounts so I've been using HTTPMail for use with Mail.app. Both my accounts no longer work now. I've tried re-creating an account but that didn't work. Is anyone experiencing similar problems?

Update : Sending mails seems to work, but get mail does not at all.

I just found out, it looks like HTTPMail is done for anyways.

httpmail no longer working with 10.5.3

mail is no longer working with my hotmail account. I've been using httpmail for a long time with no problems, from 10.4 through 10.5.2. The only thing I can think that's changed was installing 10.5.3 today. Anyone else experienced this? Any one been able to fix it? Hopefully an update will come soon if it is a compatibility problem.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, but Microsoft has finally decided to close access to its servers via the WebDav (or HttpMail) protocol. As my hotmail plugin uses this protocol to communicate with the hotmail servers this means that as of June 30th 2008 my plugin will no longer work
I am looking into their new protocol called DeltaSync, but from what I can see Microsoft is using some proprietry encryption/compression on message contents, so it might take a little while (if ever) for it to see the light of day.
Thanks to everyone for all the donations and support over the last 5 years or so.
If I manage to figure out the compression then a new plugin supporting Windows Live mail should be fairly easy to create. I’ll post progress here if there is any

MS not disabling WEBDAV...YET!

Due to user feedback, MS has decided to delay disabling of WebDAV. That doesn't mean that httpmail will work under 10.5.3 (doesn't work for me), but if the developer is ceasing development, than folks will need to look for a different solution.

I am currently using MacFreePOPs with Mail.app to access my webmail addresses (Leopard 10.5.3).

I have no Hotmail accounts, but MacFreePOPs is supposed to work with Hotmail accounts and plenty of others, too.

If you have a Hotmail Plus account you should still be able to access your mail using the POP3 protocol. The details for setting up POP3 access is as follows.

Incoming mail server: pop3.live.com (port 995)
Outgoing mail server: smtp.live.com (port 25)

Username: your full hotmail email address

NOTE: the outgoing mail server requires authentication

might need to readd your email account as a new account.
