So todays update just pushed back shipping by 6 weeks, was supposed to be in late June.

This is the project for those pf you who never heard about it:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nonda/get-your-macbook-ports-back

Not sure what I want to do about it, the project has 7 days till it closes, part of me wants to reward them for the honesty but the email they sent about the delay is not very clear, almost feels like they wanted to sneak it in hoping I would not notice.

Was curious what the rest of you are going to do.

May be the first in a long series of delays. Might be next year even, or fall.

I've seen it many times. As a matter of fact, the odds are at least 2 delays, which would put it around august/sept

note:I'm pretty sure there will be another hub in the interim :D (just a hunch)

I have backed many projects, and never had one ship when originally quoted. Keep one thing in mind, Hub+ started as a USB 2.0 project and after so much pushback from backers, the folks at Hub+ found a workable chipset to add 3.0 ports. Once they announced that without any delay in timeline I knew it would be delayed, however, it will be a much better project in the end because of it ...

About 90% of the projects I've backed on Kickstarter got delayed by at least 3 months. And about 50-60% of the hardware projects I've backed in the end did not deliver so I've learned my lesson. I'll wait for it to be available on their site, just don't want to take the kickstarter risk anymore.

Exact same experience here. I have given up. Pebble is one of the few to actually follow through.

If there wasn't a delay I would be shocked. Every Kickstarter project is usually delayed. I'm not complaining I understand. Nothing ever goes smoothly for large projects.

I've backed this but seriously thinking of pulling out. Not because of the delay although that does sway me more......but because as a predominantly leisure user I really don't think am going to require more than the Apple USB to USb-C adapter I already have. I've had my rMB a week already and have only plugged in the power supply so far.....................

EDIT - just cancelled. I really do not need this for my purposes.

I just want one with a detachable cable. I don't care if it's fancy, unless they want $$$.

All of the ones i've seen have short little cables, which sort of defeats some of the utility of this new standard. (Nothing I want more than some hideous dongle hanging off of my notebook.....NOT)

Someone mentioned that if it has a C port you can use that. I have doubts about that.

We shall see.

Kickstarter is a con, most of the "ideas" you see aren't homebrew but are from large companies trying to get free market data, hedge their bets on production and minimize risk on a new item.

The "delays" are fake too; factories want to produce in September/October for the Christmas business, so almost all Kickstarter first shipments magically appear in the early Fall almost every time.

The delay is already August to September.

Never go into a kickstarter if you actually want the product. Wait until it's either actually out, or buy the product that someone who knows what they are doing releases long before it makes it to market.
