I have the occasional situation where I'll either ask Siri to turn off a set of Hue lights or have them turn on/off on a set automation where one or two lights actually fail to respond. Giving the command again will get the failed bulb to properly respond.

The reason I think this is a HomeKit problem and not a Hue problem is that turning on/off groups of lights via the Hue app never results in a bulb that fails to respond. And my Hue's hub firmware is fully up to date.

It's very annoying to set a timer and come home to find a light that didn't turn on or find one burning all day long that should have gone off hours ago.

Anyone else see this behavior, or is it just me?

This is the lights somewhat loosing the link the extremely simple solution is just to flip the light switch off then back on and the problem is solved. Of you open the hue app and then choose lights it shows you they may not be reachable. This was what made me give up the wink bulbs I had to reset them often and it was a pain.

I sort of have the same problem. When I'm at home (on my wifi) the Hue lights work perfectly via the new Apple Home app. However, whenever I leave the house, the Hue lights always say not responding. I have 2 Apple TV's (4th gen). My Schlage sense works perfectly when accessing it remotely via the Home app so I feel like it's a Hue issue somehow.

After iOS 10 was released the Hue lights worked perfectly when accessing them remotely using the Home app.

I've tried everything I can think of from rebooting everything (Wifi router, Hue box, Apple TVs, etc).

Anyone else have this issue and can offer a solution. It's obviously very annoying, especially sincere it used to work before.

Sounds like a apple problem. I almost never use home to do anything and only once in awhile a light will be a issue. Glad I don't have to rely on Apple for my home automation yet seems pretty problematic so far.

I've actually had similar issues but not related to HomeKit. I have a scene on my harmony remote that I activate to dim or turn off the lights. I've pressed it before and one light might not respond (not the same one each time it glitches)

When I got the Hue bulbs, a couple of them would occasionally not respond to the Hue app and/or geofencing. But this latest iOS update seems to have everything working correctly now. I use both HomeKit and the Hue app when I'm home and now I've been using HomeKit by itself when I'm away. The automations I have set up in HomeKit also work correctly, like one of the lights coming on when the Schlage Sense lock is unlocked, and off when the lock is locked.

I've had this problem. It's that you have two Apple TVs tied to HomeKit in the same location. Unplug one device, then turn off HomeKit on the other device. Then plug in the other device and that should fix the issue. I used this method to fix my issue. I turned off the device that was connected via WiFi and enabled it for the device wired to the router. Hope this helps.
