i like the Hue disco app more than the standard Hue app but was glad to see that hue had a watch app. I am disappointed in what little the watch app will do.

It will allow you to select from a group of predesigned lighting scenes and place about five of them on your watch. You can then swipe between the limited 5 and then tap one to make it current. You can also force touch a scans to turn all lights off. That's all it does, unless I'm missing something? I see a spectrum bar graphic at the top of each scene display that has no use. And at the very least I would expect the digital crown to control the brightness of each scene...it does not.

Anyone find a better watch app for hue?

This is all because it's not running on your watch, but on your phone. I expect a native watch-running app(s) will be released after watchOS 2 comes out in the fall. Only then can you actually install native apps, not extensions, on the Watch itself.

Am I the only one to find the watch app to be so painfully slow to use that there's zero added convenience to using it? It's much faster to pull out your phone and use the Hue widget or pull up the app.

Features would be nice, but performance and stability are not close to where they should be, native or not.

Make sure the Hue app on your phone is actually running and not closed. Makes for faster usage on the watch.

I've had no slow load times on mine. Couple of seconds max.
