I've been having some wacky issues with Maps since iOS 11 through 11.1.1. Here are my issues:
1 - Traffic randomly turns itself off, not triggered by a reboot but completely randomly, I will plug my phone into CarPlay only to find traffic option on my phone has been turned off. This is random and doesn't happen every day, but about once a week.
2 - Frequent locations not working. In iOS 9 and 10, it would always pop a notification in the morning when it was time to leave for work, or earlier if there was major traffic. I've yet to see one of these notifications pop in iOS 11. I tried clearing my frequent locations and starting over, which leads into the next issue...
3 - Unable to clear frequent locations. It would give me an error saying simply "Unable to remove frequent locations" when trying to remove them. I got around this by resetting Location & Privacy data in Settings.
4 - My biggest gripe, unable to remove recent searches and search history. I even tried doing this from Maps on my MBP 10.13.1, but the search history just comes back after a while. I uninstalled Maps on my iPhone (which does remove local data), reinstalled it, and all of the search history came right back. So something is stuck in iCloud and won't delete. I can literally go through my list of searches, remove one by one and they will re-populate one right after the other. It is so bizarre.
5 - Searching for certain locations, the location is not centered. A minor gripe, but it seems to do it 100% of the time when I search for my Work address (since it doesn't pop up automatically, point #1, so I can check traffic). The result always shows the "briefcase" icon off-center, like in the corner of the visible map.
I'm about ready to do a full nuke and reinstall (which is sad since I haven't had this phone but less than a month), but I'm afraid whatever bad data is stuck in iCloud will just copy right back over, even without doing a restore.
A cursory Google search on these problems returned very little results, mostly from Apple's Support site.
