Let's put it this way. The day after my 30th birthday (last week, the day I arrived in Sanibel, FL for my summer vacation...), I came down with the flu (still have it). I take that as a sign of things to come.

I was down at Captiva in December, a very cool place, more shells on the beach than I've ever seen before. I think that one outdoor restaurant was one we went to. Was that on Capitiva or some place on Sanibel that looks simillar?

Damn, it seems as though everyone on macrumors is going to beautiful tropical-looking resorts these days... i'm jealous :D

Nice pictures blakespot. How did you manage to catch the flu somewhere so lovely as that though

1st, thank you for the link to the Apps, my God there are soooo many. Second, nice pics from the trip to the beach. Very good pixel depth in them. What kind of camera and megapixel rating is it?

Dukestreet, that was the beach bar at our hotel, the Sanibel Inn. Quite nice. We did dine on Captiva one evening (The Bubble Room) while there, as we do upon every visit.

The camera is what I (and reviewers) consider the best camera for the $$ at around $500. It's the Canon PowerShot S30, a superb camera that features 3.2MP (2048x1536) and will take a 30-second 320x240 movie. Could not be happier with it. Have a 128MB card in there (allowing ~70 shots at max res / quality). These shots were taken on the max res, 2nd highest quality setting allowing me ~130 or so pix on the card. I resized them and adjusted levels in Photoshop 7 before saving out to these jpg's.

(I, of course, always retain the high res originals (in iPhoto) becuase you never know when you might want to print.)
