Hybrid Drive for Macbook Pro 2007

Nice sale going on for HDDs and figure I would get a Hybrid for my Macbook Pro 2007. Will I get the maximum benefits of owning a hybrid drive if it's installed in a Macbook Pro from 2007. or would I be better of spending few dollars less for a regular HDD
