Popular accessory maker Hyper this week announced the launch of its HyperPack Pro backpack, which has built-in Find My functionality. Hyper has been working on the backpack since last year, launching it via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, but it now has wide availability from the Hyper website.

The HyperPack Pro is similar in design to the Targus Cypress Hero Backpack that launched earlier this month, as Targus now owns the Hyper brand. It uses the same type of Find My location module, which is located at the top of the backpack and has an easy-access replaceable battery. With Find My integration, the HyperPack Pro can be located in the Find My app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac using the items tab.

There is a dedicated pocket for up to a 16-inch laptop, and the backpack has a total of 22L of storage. There are six individual pockets, including pockets for camera gear, gym clothes, sunglasses, tech accessories, and a 1L water bottle. There is an RFID pocket for credit cards and a hidden back pocket, plus interlocking zippers for security.

Passthrough charging pockets allow laptops, tables, phones, and more to be charged while still inside the backpack, and the backpack itself is made from a water resistant Cordura fabric.

We reviewed the HyperPack Pro last December and were impressed with the storage capabilities and the utility of the Find My integration.

The HyperPack Pro can be purchased from the Hyper website for $200.

Hyper... an appropriate name for a company selling a hyper overpriced backpack :p

And what's the deal with companies still adding Pro (and Plus and Max) to a product name? Please, stop.

Why do they put the AirTag right on top? Shouldn’t it be hidden?

I’ve been looking for a good camera bag for awhile but haven’t found one I like yet, my current one is too small and I’m not very happy with it considering how expensive it was. Of course, like someone mentioned, thieves will just take the contents out of a bag and toss it most likely. I still don’t know why not one camera manufacturer has put in some sort of “find my camera” feature in yet using the built in gps. Considering how expensive camera gear is it’s a no brainer, yet nothing.

If anyone has a good recommendation I’m all ears.. 🥰

Still cannot imagine buying this over a quality backpack
I’ve never seen a Hyper bag in person but the HyperBag Pro might be good quality, given it uses a high denier Cordura fabric and YKK zippers. Both are signs that a maker wasn’t cutting corners. But, as I said, I don’t know anything about Hyper’s manufacturing standards. The product page also doesn’t give any information about where the HBP is made.

If anyone has a good recommendation
I like the flexibility of camera cubes that can be inserted into whichever backpack, tote, messenger bag, sling, or other bag is best for the shooting conditions.

For example:

I own cubes from Timbuk2 and Topo. Both are well designed and well made (I didn’t link to Timbuk2 above because it doesn’t seem to make a cube currently).

Not to be THAT guy, but isn’t it better to try and be a bit more COVERT when having FM or AirTag in a bag? Putting it right out there on the top, anyone who knows anything is going to maybe just take everything out pretty darn quick and ditch the bag.

If one is really trying to locate either a lost of stolen bag, I would think its better to just put an AirTag INTO the bag somewhere in one of those little pockets or cavities that nobody knows what else to do with. It’s not really going to impair the airtag Radios that much.

Being covert is one reason why I think many of the apple designed AirTag clips and lanyards, etc have all been liquidated and sold at steep discounts. Why hang a loud RED dongle with an airtag in it on an outer handle when it just screams - ‘rip me off the bag before stealing’

This company makes great quality bags that are versatile and designed with camera gear in mind. We own a couple and we’re very happy with them.

Ugly bag, too small and no Ultrawideband. No thanks. UWB is what makes all these Find My licenced accessories absolutely useless!

Why not just get a good looking and larger backpack,..then simply slip an Airtag into it?
