i still prefer the look of a leather messenger bag. A messenger bag made of thick hide leather wouldn't look out of place 200 years ago and still looks fine today imo. I have an airtag in mine.

Popular accessory maker Hyper this week announced the launch of its HyperPack Pro backpack, which has built-in Find My functionality. Hyper has been working on the backpack since last year, launching it via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, but it now has wide availability from the Hyper website.

The HyperPack Pro is similar in design to the Targus Cypress Hero Backpack that launched earlier this month, as Targus now owns the Hyper brand. It uses the same type of Find My location module, which is located at the top of the backpack and has an easy-access replaceable battery. With Find My integration, the HyperPack Pro can be located in the Find My app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac using the items tab.

There is a dedicated pocket for up to a 16-inch laptop, and the backpack has a total of 22L of storage. There are six individual pockets, including pockets for camera gear, gym clothes, sunglasses, tech accessories, and a 1L water bottle. There is an RFID pocket for credit cards and a hidden back pocket, plus interlocking zippers for security.

Passthrough charging pockets allow laptops, tables, phones, and more to be charged while still inside the backpack, and the backpack itself is made from a water resistant Cordura fabric.

We reviewed the HyperPack Pro last December and were impressed with the storage capabilities and the utility of the Find My integration.

The HyperPack Pro can be purchased from the Hyper website for $200.

Will this fit the new 15" MacBook Air

I wouldn't recommend this. I tried to put it in my ex girlfriends trunk since I still have her car keys and want to know where she is. It lost connection so I've been driving around as if I was a lunatic trying to find her car.

Why do they put the AirTag right on top? Shouldn’t it be hidden?

I’ve been looking for a good camera bag for awhile but haven’t found one I like yet, my current one is too small and I’m not very happy with it considering how expensive it was. Of course, like someone mentioned, thieves will just take the contents out of a bag and toss it most likely. I still don’t know why not one camera manufacturer has put in some sort of “find my camera” feature in yet using the built in gps. Considering how expensive camera gear is it’s a no brainer, yet nothing.

If anyone has a good recommendation I’m all ears.. 🥰
I cannot say enough good things about the (pricey) ThinkTank line of camera bags. I have used both a shoulder bag style bag and a backpack style bag under abusive conditions for years. The only downside is they look like they have pricey stuff inside - - and they are expensive.

I often liked beat-up hard or soft coolers for concealing expensive camera gear. And at Cal an oversize cheap backpack disappeared because it looked like every other backpack, but in the non-uni world today thieves steal anything not under lock and key, so one might as well have nice camera toting cases.

Ugly bag, too small and no Ultrawideband. No thanks. UWB is what makes all these Find My licenced accessories absolutely useless!

Why not just get a good looking and larger backpack,..then simply slip an Airtag into it?
Useless?

Not to be THAT guy, but isn’t it better to try and be a bit more COVERT when having FM or AirTag in a bag? Putting it right out there on the top, anyone who knows anything is going to maybe just take everything out pretty darn quick and ditch the bag.

If one is really trying to locate either a lost of stolen bag, I would think its better to just put an AirTag INTO the bag somewhere in one of those little pockets or cavities that nobody knows what else to do with. It’s not really going to impair the airtag Radios that much.

Being covert is one reason why I think many of the apple designed AirTag clips and lanyards, etc have all been liquidated and sold at steep discounts. Why hang a loud RED dongle with an airtag in it on an outer handle when it just screams - ‘rip me off the bag before stealing’
I keep my AirTags exposed on my items because it’s also likely that a benevolent person might find your lost keys, backpack, bike, etc and if they can see an AirTag is attached, they’ll be able to connect to it to reach the owner. Once again, I think so many people only consider the AirTags as theft recovery devices.

And what's the deal with companies still adding Pro (and Plus and Max) to a product name? Please, stop.

what's the deal with people asking this question? please, stop.

no really, stop. it's not going away. when one of the largest markets for these devices being marketed to is the US, it's not changing. literally *everything* in the US is marketed around quantity. "how much do I get?" "how big is it?" virtually everything is marketed around its size.

bigger cars. bigger beverages. big plates. bigger houses. the only thing that seems to go in the opposite direction is the physical size of a human being too big, but again, the frame of reference is on the size.

if "plus" and "max" and "ultra" were just silly names that wouldn't sell a product, let's say it nice and clear:

THEY WOULD NOT BE DOING IT.

a company with a trillion dollar market cap isn't naming things i[device] [number] pro max because they're @#!$ing with people. their marketing department is busy having a field day with how much money they can make the company over branding.

they confidently sell $600 (cant remember the exact price) casters for desktop computers while also selling a $1000 stand to go with the accompanying display.

none of this is an accident. none of it is going away.
