At the New York Auto Show this week, automaker Hyundai did the expected by announcing its 2011 models. But Hyundai surprised everyone by announcing it's 2011 Equus sedan will come with a free Apple iPad that will serve as the car's owners manual.

"The plan is to have a complimentary iPad with each vehicle," Miles Johnson, Product Public Relations Manager for Hyundai, told TechNewsDaily.

I'm not complaining. The 2011 Hyundai Equus is MSRP'd at $60,000; not like we're talking about anything cheap. That's more than a pretty decent new Porsche Boxter, a lower end Cayenne, and a new Cayman.

It might be expensive...but it's still a Hyundai ;)

What a lame brain idea. Who is going to read a manual that isn't on an e-ink screen. :D

BRILLIANT...?

But why cheapen the iPad? I want to see an iPad with a Porsche or a Bugatti.
Porsche and Bugatti doesn't need a third party item to market their products. Never in the past...never in the future. Bugatti went back in the market by building the fastest production vehicle out there - they Veyron. Porsche...well what else can be said about them. Porsche pretty much retained the same look for the past billion years but their reputation is just the same and no iPad is needed to help them keep that.

Hyundai has been trying to break away from the cheap stigma they've been associated with in the past and to be honest the past 2 years has been a breakthrough for them. Their new line is very impressive and the Equus has been compared to BMW's 7 Series and Mercedes' S Class. Good marketing move from Hyundai as they keep trying to associate themselves with quality products.
