I just have to say I love this thing.
Obviously there is a wide and varied target market for Apple Music, but as someone who never truly got into Spotify and as an all-about-it Mac user, I gotta say, it's awesome.
Probably, it's a combination of first contact with a streaming service I actually am getting into, but also the iTunes Match style service, via iCloud Music Library. That thing is a revelation. $25 was always a bit too steep for me to try it, now we all essentially get it through AM its great to see and experience how it works for you on a day to day basis.
For years I've had around 5 apple devices: Air, MBP, iMac, iPad and iPhone - this just solves that problem of syncing music to devices, and giving me something I always wanted - the exact same iTunes music library on every single device I own. That feature ALONE is worth the $10 for me and I can't believe it isn't being promoted more.
But the conversion to the streaming world, that I can scour the entire iTunes Store collection and add it to MY library at the click of button. I just love it.
Granted, Connect is totally broken, and if they truly want to help indies in the way they want to they are going to have to go beyond the aggregator model and open the floodgates, so to speak, or this thing will be dead in the water.
Radio and Beats1, I can take or leave, and 'New' is far too poppy for my tastes - but For You is absolutely on point - they are amazing and great recommendations suited to my taste on a daily basis.
For all the whinging online, I just have to say well done Apple. Absolutely stoked with this.
