I have been an iPhone, iPad and Mac user for years, and I have owned only one Android phone several years ago, which I tried as an experiment. I returned to iPhone after that and have remained an Apple fan ever since 2005. I currently have an iPhone 7 +, and I am now finding things about it which are very annoying. For example, it rarely can remember the words that I used in previous emails and texts. The older Android did a much better job of remembering and correctly spelling words. The iPhone does this poorly in my opinion. Also, I have noticed lately that email and Safari pages freeze up more and more frequently. Then I am blocked from opening certain websites, and receive a message that that website is "restricted." I didn't restrict it, but Apple has decided to restrict it for me. Most of these sites are perfectly legitimate and harmless. So I go into my phone and unblock the website and I still cannot access it. Finally, when using the phone keyboard, I find the keyboard suddenly disappears (goes black) when I try to push a number button, or when I push the number, nothing happens. The battery life is also very mediocre. My iPhone is not even two years old so I cannot blame it on age. I never had these kinds of issues in any other iPhone that I have had.
The bottom line is this: I am due for a phone upgrade later this year, and I am seriously considering dumping Apple and getting a Samsung 10 or some other Android based smartphone. Can anyone convince me why I should stick with an iPhone? Has anyone else had these kinds of problems with iPhone? Thank you for the replies, if any.

Do you have a screen shot of the 'restricted' message you get?

I don't believe I have seen that before.

Has it be dropped, any damage?

There are many with the 7+ that are very happy.

Have you tried backing up and the resetting the phone?

No, it has never been dropped, and I have not yet tried resetting it or backing it up.

No, how does one take a screen shot of the restricted message. It basically says that that site is restricted on a blank page. Accessed denied because it is restricted. I don't know how or why it is restricted.

I mean, you can always take a screenshot?! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

By the sound of it, I feel like you’re going to insecure websites and Apple has restricted those sites because you could compromise your security. A screenshot of the page will definitely help us identify the issue.

7+ still running well. Debating on jailbreaking so I can get more out of my device.

Maybe you two shall sit down and talk a little bit? Let your iPhone know that you are disappointed, everything is easier when you are open to talk.

Almost every time there is a problem in relationship between the two is because they won't listen and understand each other.

Here is a screen shot of just one website that was restricted. It’s a Chinese restaurant! Why would a restaurant website be restricted? And nearly all of the other restricted websites were as innocuous.

Are you using a content blocker? If yes, disable it in Safari settings.

Also, if Safari finds sketchy code it might block the page. Only for your own safety.

Sounds like you may have a content blocker installed etc. The site is not restricted by Apple.

From what you described in the opening post, you might want to wipe the phone and install as new.

I have put parent restrictions on my kids’ devices before and that’s the message they get. I would check Restrictions in Settings.

That screen is nothing to do with Apple

I can visit that site no problem on my XR.

I don’t have a content blocker installed on the phone. Only adult websites are blocked.
I appreciate all the replies.

All sites should be allowed unless you have Restrictions set up under Settings. As I said earlier. Where are you adding sites to the Allowed list?
