I am female hear me roar!

I think this thread illustrates a fascinating thing the internet does, especially on msg boards like MR. Gender is very easily confused. If I was really crazy I could make an account on some random site and pretend to be a girl. The internet works in strange ways.

Maybe I should contribute and get my Demi-God status..

It occured to me after the fact that my profile might contain my sex. Sure enough, my geneder is located, along with a bunch of outdated information, in my profile. *sigh*

On an even less serious note, the add I am seeing at the top of the screen is rediculus. It asks "what famous rapper is this?" and gives a chest shot of a white male. Now I don't like RAP, but out of 50 cent, Eminem, and Ludacris I think I can take an educated guess 🙄

... And then, there are those of us who started out on the "big bad internet" on IRC that purposely went with a masculine or gender-neutral name... it let me keep my /ignore list a LOT shorter...
 
This is a really funny thread to read. Honestly, on the internet does it really matter whether one is male or female? 🙂

Oh, and for a gender neutral pronoun, you can use "hir" or at least according to wikipedia

So what's the right word to use for a person that is neither male nor female or both male and female? Or are you denying that 3rd genders and hermaphrodites exist?

Of course they don't. That would disript the dichotomy too much, its why we have to "fix" them at birth. 🙄

"One" is the gender neutral 3rd person personal pronoun. Slightly archaic albeit, but the neologisms sound illiterate.
