As I was walking out of my living room to go into the kitchen, I hand my laptop in one hand and my iPhone SE in the other. I was sleepy and somewhat depressed at the moment, but this made it worse.

It still hasn't hit me how bad this actually is... this computer survived 1 drop that broke the SSD, already had a free screen replacement for delamination, my trackpad doesn't click well and now this. Not even 5 years in and over $1000 down the drain?

I don't make that much money, I'm a senior in college working less than 20 hours a week for $13. I have under $200 in my possension and have nowhere to turn. Because I've turned to this place in the past for advice, I'm doing it again tonight.

If someone has ideas, please share. Otherwise, I won't be using this laptop for a long time...

Sorry to hear about the drop. Do you have an external monitor that you could use? At least it looks like it still somewhat works.

You might be able to to start a go fund me to cover the repair.
I could but I don't know if that would work.

I do have an external monitor, I think that's the path I'm heading down.

Honestly, I'm just lucky the whole thing didn't break. I'm sure there have been horror stories here.

Damn bro I feel your pain... does Apple offer screen replacements? 'Have you could look into that

They do but you have to shell out over $400.

I have a question for everyone: if I tried putting this up for sale, do you think I'd get $300 to put towards a newer MBP, or no?

I'm sure someone would want to have it for parts/external monitor usage. Although to be honest I don't think I would buy it if I were in the market.

You may be able to part it out, if the SSD is larger then 256GB the odds go up on getting more $$
