How can I download it so that I can update my OS?
Can I go back to 10.9.5 which is Mavericks ever?
I like the way Safari icon looks in Mavericks.

I went to the Mojave link, and it says:
This copy of the Install macOS Mojave application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS.

Close the App Store, delete the Install macOS Mojave.app you have in the /Applications folder, open the link again and re-download Mojave.
Alternatively, you can trigger the download from Terminal with:
Code:
open "x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.preferences.softwareupdate?installMajorOSVersion=10.14.6"

I couldn't find Mojave in Applications (I went through a list of my applications in the applications folder).

Running the code in terminal did nothing.

Disconnect you internet and change the date to sometimes in 2018 and then restart , start the installation again and it should work.

Make sure you delete any existing installer application first, and then try again.

"Where can I check to see if there is any existing one?"

Look in your applications folder, or do a search of your internal drive.
