I know it sounds dumb but im trying to make it look reasonable.

So, would squared, as in the square of these numbers, abbreviate to sqr?

    ie (X)^2 could be Xsqr?

    thanks

I'd try to fit in a superscript "2" myself. "Sqr" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

For me, sqr would make me think of square root rather than squared. I agree with JohnNotBeatle- a superscripted 2 would be a much more common designation. If that can't be done, then sq would seem better than sqr- but still not good.

sqr wouldn't make me think of "squared".....don't think it works without the "d"

If it must be a three letter thing, then sqd. But use a superscript 2.
