I have been a PC guy all my life. Got the 11" 128gb 4gb version.

Contemplated like most individuals on a 11" or 13". But the Air had to be it bc I travel constantly with my work 14" laptop beast.

I had a Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 for my movies while on the plane but Android isn't quite there on the HD video player apps. Once I installed the samsung touchwiz UI, my video weren't playing while it played on the Honeycomb 3.1 OS.

That's when I knew I need a ultraportable laptop and here I am.

Now I must resist buying more matching products but i need a 24" Apple display! keyboard and mouse.

But this is a great lil guy! :)

Very glad you like your MacBook Air. I'm quite fond of mine as well.

But I bet had you bought an iPad instead of the half-baked Galaxy you might not have ever bought the MacBook Air (since you'd have never had the problems the Galaxy had). :p

We have 3 2010 11" MBA's with OWC 480 SSD's, they are wicked fast, I think it is the best Laptop Apple makes. BTW they started with me as refurbs with 64 Gb SSD, and 4 GB of RAM, I always buy refurbs;):D:apple::apple::apple:

Not a bad choice. Of the two I think I now prefer the 11 inch.

Well one upside foe your resistance. Apple no longer makes a 24" (stupidly)

I haven't used Facetime yet. but the screen quality. I love. plays my HD movies very clear.

The galaxy is a nice peice of electronic. As a UI/UX designer, having the ipad and now recently the touchpad, I prefer webOS, just no apps.

Couldn't resist.... I haggled a guy to sell his 24" ACD for $475. picking it up in couple hours.

    addiction...

Just got my 11" on Wednesday- I freaking love it. I have an iPad 2 and the MBA is a hundred times better- its basically an iPad with full functionality. I was a little concerned at first not having a disc drive or enough space, but an HDD and the SuperDrive took care of that.

Just ordered my MacBook air and I'm excited. I have been using just my iMac and iPad for the last couple of years. I haven't owned a laptop for well over 2 years now.

I got the 2010 MacBook Air 1.6, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM model for $819 via an eBay store (not individual seller). Can't wait to get it and play with it!

Well I'm still playing and tweaking mine !
Im originally from a windows background and got tired of the windows experience. Always having to defrag and clean temp files. Slow and tired.

Now I'm enjoying finding out all about the macbook air and lion o.s.

    Happy days.

I have had my 13" MBA for about 4 days now, and will be taking it back to trade it in for the 13" MBP. I love the portability of the MBA, but I need more space and carrying around an external drive is just going to be horrible.

You need more space? Why are you exchanging for the Pro then? It's got a far lower resolution.

sold my MBP and got my 11" MBA the other day....yes, i do miss the extra HD space but i was just throwing everything on the MBP anyway because i knew i had the space. now, i just think a little more before throwing large amounts of porn on the SSD/HD ;)...

I think he meant hard drive space not screen resolution.

I think 128GB should be plenty for most mobile needs. With iTunes Match this fall, I probably won't need to store my whole iTunes library on it, so that's going to save me about 10-15GB right there.

I will also probably just keep my iPhoto library on my iMac, only letting Photostream add photos to my Macbook Air, so that won't take up too much space at least for a while (since I won't be transferring my 38GB iPhoto library to it).

I guess it all depends on how you use it. If its your primary computer, yeah I think the MBP is the way to go since space is an issue. For me, the Macbook Air is a secondary computer, so I only need to put a few things on there to make it useful.

One thing to evaluate would be "do I really NEED" all those files or can I do without some?

Because if you got the 13" with an SD reader, maybe getting a 32GB SD card is an acceptable alternative to carrying a whole external hard drive everywhere you go.

I've had my MacBook Air for 2 weeks now and it's really an incredible machine. It's amazing how fast and light this thing is, and for the purpose of using this for school it's exactly what I wanted / needed.

The battery life so far has been pretty much on par with getting between 4.5 hours to 6 hours, depending on the usage. Which IMHO is acceptable given the size of this thing. I debated getting a 13" model, but in the end, I think the 11" is the better buy.

The 2011 model is a big jump up from the 2010 ones, and I'm really happy to have a backlit keyboard back!
