also if you've registered applecare, you cannot return that, you'll have to call applecare and beg them to give you a credit. My advice is to return whatever you can and just install windows on your MBP

Thanks I was curious about if applecare was returnable. By any chance, do you know if this still applies if everything is within the 14 day return limit? (I already registered for applecare though..)

Sorry to cause all the commotion. Thanks for the advice. I'm keeping my MBP and I will be using it all the time.. I just won't be carrying it around. Maybe I'm just picky but, I think the macbook pro is just too much to carry around. The macbook is alright, but my old 12" ibook was perfect. The smaller the better really.. that's hip now isn't it?

And who likes spending money on books when you can get something cooler?

If you've registered your applecare you CANNOT return that at the Apple Store under ANY circumstance; i used to work in Apple Retail, and the Apple Store CANNOT even return applecare if the shrink wrap has been removed but never registered. I'm sure if you call Applecare directly and explain your situation to them they'll be able to issue you a refund.

Thanks.. I'm glad you posted before I drove there.

I was able to get a refund for my applecare over the phone without too much of a hassle.

From the apple website if anyone was wondering:
